There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no server of any kind. Every piece of your crew, livery and race history stays on your device, in the app's own storage, until you delete the app.
What this app is
Bottomless Eights is a single-player racing game inspired by the Henley-on-Todd Regatta in Alice Springs. It is a fan-made tribute and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the regatta's organisers, Rotary clubs, or the town of Alice Springs.
Data this app collects
None. Bottomless Eights has no backend, makes no network requests, and does not use any analytics, advertising or crash-reporting service. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally, using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). None of it ever leaves your device, is never transmitted, and is never seen by us:
- Your crew name, hull colours and livery choices
- Runner stamina and stride training progress
- Heat results, best times and win history
- App settings: sound, music, haptics and notification preferences
This data is removed automatically if you delete the app, and can be cleared at any time from Settings → Reset Progress.
Camera and Photo Library
If you choose to give your crew a crest, Bottomless Eights lets you take a photo with the camera or pick one from your photo library. That image is processed on your device and stored only inside the app's own local data, to be shown on your boat's hull. It is never uploaded, shared with us, or sent to any third party.
Separately, if you choose "Save Image" on a race result card, the app asks for permission to add that one image to your photo library. We do not otherwise read your photo library.
Notifications
If you turn on the regatta-call reminder in Settings, the app asks your permission and then schedules local notifications directly on your device using Apple's notification framework. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device; no notification content is sent to or from a server, and nothing about you is collected to send them.
Children's privacy
Bottomless Eights does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.
Third parties
This app contains no third-party SDKs, trackers, analytics kits or advertising networks of any kind.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the update date above will change and the new policy will be published at this same address.
